Marcos Alonso remains in Spain as he has been officially unveiled as Celta Vigo’s new signing.
The 33-year-old left-back became a free agent after his contract with Barcelona expired this summer.
He had offers from abroad but decided to stay in Spain, despite links with Sevilla. But the former Chelsea star eventually signed for Celta instead.
A whole host of clubs, in turn, are understood to have expressed an interest in Alonso’s services.

Alonso has enjoyed an eclectic career, starting out in the Real Madrid youth system. Before spells at Bolton Wanderers, Sunderland and Fiorentina.
His biggest success came at Chelsea, where he won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Alonso becomes Celta’s third new signing under Claudio Giraldez this summer, following Borja Iglesias and Ilaix Moriba.
The Spanish full-back is in contention to make his Celta debut this weekend when they travel to Osasuna.
